Our Story

Laurent Paper Co. is a nod to my home, Montreal, Quebec, an island in the St. Lawrence River (called the St-Laurent in French).

It's also an homage to Brother Lawrence, a lay monk living in France during the 1600's. He worked in the kitchens of the monastery, and later worked repairing sandals. People were attracted to him because of the peace he exuded, and the wisdom he shared. After his death, his writings were published in a book called “The Practice of the Presence of God.” This powerful, little book walks its readers through what Brother Lawrence learned about being in continual communion with God. Even in his mundane tasks of cooking and sandal repair, Brother Lawrence endeavored to stay in continual connection with God’s presence.

Practicing a continual relationship with God and an awareness of His presence in our lives is at the heart of Laurent Paper Co., and the reason why our company has this name.

We pray that in everything we produce for you, that you would be reminded that God is near, that He speaks today, and that a continual, interactive relationship with Him is possible and offered to you freely on the basis of Christ’s sacrificial love for you on the cross, even in the most mundane of life’s moments. 

  • The journey begins with a deep desire to help Christians connect with the voice of God in everyday life. Recognizing that many struggle with hearing God's voice amidst life's noise, we saw a gap, and began designing the Name Your Year Journal as a gentle and accessible means of practicing listening for God's voice. In a whirlwind of dreaming, designing, and preparing, Laurent Paper Co. was born.

  • In May of 2024, this dream came to life as 73 supporters backed this project on Kickstarter. Because of their generous support, we were able to fund the first mass order of our journal! They were printed and shipped to our warehouses, where they now sit ready to be sent to YOU to aid you in your most intentional year yet with God!

  • From here, the journey only continues. We are not only making paper products, we long to build community. Through our variety of platforms and connections, online and in person, we are creating spaces where Christians can find encouragement, share their experiences, and grow in faith as they seek to hear and heed God's voice daily. We are so thankful you're along for this journey with us!

Hi, I'm Jenny!

I know what it’s like to let doubt and discouragement hold you back from a close relationship with God.

In my 20’s, I faced many challenges in my personal life, and longed to hear God’s voice of reassurance, comfort, and love. I sometimes took a long time to turn to Him during these challenges because I was scared I wouldn’t get an answer. But every time I got over that fear, he met me in these low moments. Slowly, my faith started building that an interactive, daily relationship was possible for me, and that I didn’t have to settle for going through these challenges of life on my own.

I am so thankful you're here, so thankful for the chance to connect with you, and I hope this journal blesses you and your relationship with God!
